His live theatrical performances have been seen in many of the area’s regional theaters, including Speakeasy Stage Company, The Publick Theater, Worcester Foothills Theatre, Stoneham Theatre, Centa-Stage, The Lyric West, The Regent Theater, Image Theater Company, The Greater Lowell Music Theatre, and The Back Alley Theater.
His favorite roles include his portrayal as Jack Kerouac in Patrick Fenton’s Kerouac’s Last Call, which garnered him an IRNE nomination (Independent Reviewers of New England) for Best Actor, Mister Sheldrake in Promises, Promises (IRNE Nominee Best Supporting Actor), Don Quixote/Cervantes in Man of La Mancha, Detective Stone in City Of Angels, Ash in Dealer’s Choice, and Billy Flynn in Chicago.
Jerry has also been very active in video, and he has been seen on the screen in many area television commercials, and has performed voice over work and participated in industrial videos in the Greater Boston area. He has also had roles in the following films: American Hustle, Against The Law, Spenser For Hire, Memories For Sale, The Bar Mitzvah, and Magi. Jerry is listed with Boston Casting and Agency Pro Casting.
As a playwright, Jerry’s full length play Boys At Play (winner “Best new play, IRNE Award) is published by Samuel French. His short plays Sex Education, and Romance 101 are published in The Best Of The Boston Theatre Marathon, Samuel French., The Old Ways by JacNeed Publications, and his essay Pinewood Dreams is included in the book River Muse, published by Sons Of Liberty Publishing. His play What I Did On My Summer Vacation is the recipient of Best New Play and Audience Choice Award at the Playwrights’ Platform Festival of New Plays. His recent screenplay Memories For Sale, has been viewed at film festivals, most recently in Cambridge, UK, and Romania. As a director, some of his credits include Glengarry Glenross, A Few Good Men, Music Man, Jekyll and Hyde, Fiddler on the Roof, A Funny Thing… Forum, Once Upon A Mattress, Monsters: The Musical, Strange Snow, and a literal cornucopia of new works for Boston Playwrights Theater Marathon, Hovey Summer Shorts, Femnoire: The Woman’s Playwriting Festival, and The Naughty Readings.
Jerry has been an active member of Playwrights’ Platform of Boston, Merrimack Valley Playwrights (MVP) in Lowell, MA, was the founder of Hovey’s Summer Shorts Festival, and he is a co founder of Lowell’s Image Theater (ww.imagetheater.com), a company that specializes in new works by local playwrights since 2005.
Jerry was the lead singer in a 1980’s wedding band, which gave him more material than he ever dreamed possible, and a deeper look into the true American psyche (just try singing “Celebration” over 200 times!, you will see what I mean!) He has studied at Boston Actor’s Workshop, Elizabeth Appleby Studios, Michael Allosso, and Leon Collins Dance Center.
He resides in Lowell, MA with his wife, Sharon, and their two great kids Kate and Max who are off and running with their wonderful careers in New York City.
